European Champion Lochner in second, Justin Kripps in third

Königssee (RWH) Bobsleigh pilot Francesco Friedrich (GER) has checked off a few of the remaining points on his to-do list: At the sixth stop in the 2019/2020 BMW IBSF World Cup, the Olympic and World Champion celebrated his first win in the 4-man bobsleigh World Cup on the track in Königssee (GER).

With his crew of Candy Bauer, Martin Grothkopp and Alexander Schueller, Friedrich finished with a 0.10-second lead over the second German team of European Champion Johannes Lochner (GER) with Benedikt Hertl, Christopher Weber and Florian Bauer.

Justin Kripps of Canada with Ryan Sommer, Ben Coakwell and Cameron Stones finished third in Königssee (0.26 seconds back).

With his fourth win of the season, Francesco Friedrich (GER, 1502 points) has now slightly extended his lead in the overall standings for the 2019/2020 BMW IBSF World Cup. After the seventh of eight races, the defending World Cup title holder now has a good 50 points more than Johannes Lochner (GER, 1449). In St. Moritz, a sixth-place finish will be enough to secure Friedrich overall victory in the 4-man bobsleigh. Justin Kripps (CAN, 1378) will arrive at the 4-man bobsleigh final in St. Moritz in third place overall (SUI, 10:00 a.m. CET).
