Innsbruck (RWH) With the eighth and final event also counting as Junior European Championships 2020, the IBSF Europe Cup concluded in Innsbruck (AUT).
In 2-woman Bobsleigh, Russian Duo Lubov Chernykh/Elena Mamedova claimed gold in the Junior European Championships followed by Andreea Grecu/Ioana Georghe (ROU) and Alena Osipenko/Yulia Belomestnykh (RUS). New U23 European Champions are Kim Kalicki/Viktoria Doenike (GER). Anastasia Makarova/Aleksandra Iokst (RUS) finished with silver in the younger category ahead of Swiss team Melanie Hasler/Jasmin Naef.
Overall Winner of IBSF Europe Cup 2019/2020 is Andreea Grecu followed by Germany’s Anne Lobenstein and Melanie Hasler (SUI).
Junior European Champions 2020 in 2-man Bobsleigh are Rostislav Gaitiukevich/Mikhail Mordasov (RUS) followed by Latvians Ralfs Berzins/Davis Springis with silver and Junior World Champion Richard Oelsner with Henrik Bosse (GER) with bronze. Davis Kaufmanis/Ivo Kleinbergs (LAT) are the U23 European Champions. Silver went to Mihai Tentea/Ciprian Daroci (ROU) ahead of bronze medallists Hans-Peter Hannighofer/Benedikt Hertl (GER). Mihai Tentea won the overall Europe Cup with five points ahead of Olympic bronze medallist Oskars Melbardis (LAT). Swiss Simon Friedli finished third overall.
In 4-man Bobsleigh, the Junior European Championships titles went to Germany with Hans-Peter Hannighofer (U23) and Jonas Jannusch (U26). Jannusch also won the overall IBSF Europe Cup 2019/2020 ahead of 2014 Olympic Champion Oskars Melbardis (LAT) and Mihai Tentea (ROU). Melbardis is also the winner of the combined Europe Cup ranking with 2-man and 4-man Bobsleigh. ©RWH2020
