Dave Nicholls in Lake Placid with first win for Israel
Lake Placid (RWH) Para Bobsleigh athlete Corie Mapp from Great Britain has defended his lead in the IBSF Para-Sport World Cup 2019/2020 overall standings. In Lake Placid (USA, February 6 and 7) the athletes competed in the seventh and eighth of ten season races.
After rank four and seven, Corie Mapp, who had won four of the previous six races, saved a good 30 points of his overall lead. Defending World Cup champion Lonnie Bissonnette from Canada, ranked second and first in Lake Placid, is in second before the last World Cup station. 2018 World Champion Arturs Klots (LAT) is third overall.
At the first race in Lake Placid, Dave Nicholls (ISR) celebrated his first victory in the racing series and the first gold for Israel. In the second race, Nicholls, who also competes in 2-man bobsleigh, came in second.
The last stop in the IBSF Para Sport World Cup with races number nine and ten is Park City (USA, February 15 and 16). ©RWH2020
