Kiel (RWH) The International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF mourns the death of Willi Holdorf (GER). The decathlon Olympic Champion of 1964 passed away on July 5 at the age of 80 in his home near Kiel.

In the 1970s Willi Holdorf was also active as a bobsleigh push athlete for the team of the Federal Republic of Germany. 1973 in Cervinia (ITA) he won European Championship silver in 2-man Bobsleigh. His pilot at the time was Horst Floth, the 1968 and 1972 Olympic silver medallist, 1970 World Champion and 1971 European Champion. ©RWH2020
