European champion Kibermanis second ahead of Lochner at Innsbruck World Cup

Innsbruck (RWH) Bobsleigh pilot Francesco Friedrich starts the second half of 2-man bobsleigh racing at BMW IBSF World Cup 2020/2021 like he ended the first: with a victory. In Innsbruck (AUT) in the seventh of the twelve races the Olympic Champion was once again unbeatable. It was 2-man bobsleigh victory number 32 in the World Cup for the Olympic and World Champion. With push athlete Alexander Schüller, Friedrich improved his own track record, set in February 2017, in the first race run to 51.04 seconds.

European champion Oskars Kibermanis (LAT, 0.68 seconds back) finished second pushed by Matiss Miknis. It was the fourth podium finish this winter for the bobsleigh pilot from Latvia.

Johannes Lochner/Christian Rasp (GER, 0,73 seconds back) finished third and recorded the sixth podium place in the seventh race of the season.

World Cup debutant Hans-Peter Hannighofer (GER) with Issam Ammour finished fourth in his first start in the BMW IBSF World Cup.

Local hero Benjamin Maier finished ninth with Markus Sammer in Innsbruck to have his best result of the season so far.

In the overall ranking of the BMW IBSF World Cup 2020/2021 Francesco Friedrich (GER, 1560 points) is clearly in the lead after seven of twelve races. Johannes Lochner (GER, 1439) is second ahead of Oskars Kibermanis (LAT, 1324).
