U23 titles to Margot Boch and Mihai Tentea
St. Moritz (RWH) Laura Nolte/Deborah Levi in 2-woman bobsleigh and Hans-Peter Hannighofer/Christian Roeder (all GER) in 2-man bobsleigh are the 2021 Junior World Champions.
At the Olympic Bobrun St. Moritz-Celerina (SUI), the European Champions Laura Nolte/Deborah Levi also took gold at the Junior World Championships. This also comes with a personal starting right at the 2021 BMW IBSF World Championships in Altenberg (GER) at the beginning of February. Silver went to Lisa Buckwitz/Cynthia Kwofie (GER). Buckwitz was the 2018 Olympic Champion as Mariama Jamanka's pusher. Third place went to the Swiss home team with Melanie Hasler/Nadja Pasternack. In the U23 classification of the World Junior Championships, the title went to France's Margot Boch/Madison Stringer ahead of Anastasiia Makarova/Anastasiia Kurysheva from the Russian team. Bronze in the U23 World Championships went to 18-year-old Viktoria Cernanska (SVK) with Patricia Horvathova. Cernanska, the youngest athlete in the field, was runner-up at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games in monobob.
In the 2-man bobsleigh, th Junior World Championship title and World Cup starting spot went to Hans-Peter Hannighofer/Christian Roeder (GER). The Swiss duo with Michael Vogt, who is currently third overall in the World Cup, and push athlete Sandro Michel, took silver, 0.30 seconds behind. After the first run Hannighofer and Vogt tied for the lead. Mihai Tentea/Ciprian Daroczi from Romania won bronze at the Junior World Championships and gold at the U23 ranking of the Junior World Championships. U23 silver went to Davis Kaufmanis/Ivo Kleinbergs (LAT) ahead of Russians Vyacheslav Popov/Egor Gryaznov. ©RWH2021
