Kaillie Humphries in second place ahead of Laura Nolte
Altenberg (RWH) Stephanie Schneider (GER) is the half-time leader in the women's monobob at the BMW IBSF World Championships 2021 in Altenberg. In the discipline's World Championships premiere, Schneider saved a wafer-thin lead of 0.04 seconds in the second of the four race runs.
With the best time in the second run, Kaillie Humphries (USA) came close to Schneider from fourth place and will start the final day with two more runs in second place.
Laura Nolte (GER, 0.18 seconds behind) is currently third. With a track record (1:00:00 minutes) in the lead after the first run, the 22-year-old lost several tenths of a second in the second run due to driving mistakes.
Mariama Jamanka and Kim Kalicki (both GER) will start into the third World Championships race run in Altenberg in fourth and fifth position. The gap between the two athletes from the German World Cup host team and a medal position is a good 0.30 seconds.
Canada's Cynthia Appiah set the start record in the second heat in Altenberg (6.00 seconds) and completes the top six in the intermediate ranking before the final.
The World Championships final with runs number three and four will be on Sunday, 14 February, at 9 and 10.30 a.m.
