Nicole Vogt overall monobob winner ahead of Breeana Walker and Marina Silva Tuono
Königssee (GER) Melanie Hasler and Martina Fontanive (both SUI) simultaneously won the final of the 2020/2021 Women's Monobob World Series at Königssee (GER). In the last race of the season of the discipline, which will be Olympic for the first time in Beijing in 2022, the two bobsleigh pilots from Switzerland (GER) tied for the win after the two race runs. Breeana Walker from Australia finished third, 0,54 seconds behind the Swiss.
For Melanie Hasler and Martina Fontanive it was their fourth race in the women's monobob and their first victory in the discipline.
The Women's Monobob World Series was held in the winter of 2020/2021 at races of all IBSF series, with 13 races in total. There were 19 female athletes from 16 nations at the start of the season finale at Königssee.
Overall monobob champion is Nicole Vogt (USA, 590 points) following four victories in Lake Placid and Park City. Breeana Walker moved up to second overall with her podium finish in Königssee, tied on points with Brazil's Marina Silva Tuono (both 502 points). Königssee winners Hasler and Fontanive moved up to overall ranks four and five. ©RWH2021
