Alexey Stulnev from Russia in the lead in the 4-man bob
Altenberg (GER) Olympic Champion Lisa Buckwitz (GER) in monobob and 2-woman bobsleigh and Richard Oelsner in 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh won the races for the IBSF Europe Cup 2021/2022 in Altenberg (GER). Buckwitz, who won Olympic gold in PyeongChang 2018 as a pusher for pilot Mariama Jamanka, and five-time Junior World Champion Oelsner thus also took the overall lead in the race series. Overall leader in the 4-man bobsleigh Europn Cup remains Russia's Alexey Stulnev, who finished second in Altenberg after two victories at the start of the season in Lillehammer (NOR).
In women's monobob, all races in the 2021/2022 Olympic winter are part of the World Series, which is held across all IBSF race series - Europe Cup, North American Cup and BMW IBSF World Cup. The second discipline for female bobsleigh athletes will become Olympic for the first time in Beijing 2022. ©RWH2021
