Kim Kalicki in second place in Innsbruck, Christine de Bruin in third
Innsbruck (RWH) Nolte - Kalicki - De Bruin: The 2-woman bobsleigh podium at the second BMW IBSF World Cup 2021/2022 in Innsbruck (AUT) is the same as at the start of the Olympic winter.
European and Junior World Champion Laura Nolte (GER) celebrated her sixth victory in the overall 13th 2-woman bobsleigh World Cup on the Olympic ice track in Igls above Innsbruck. This time with Deborah Levi as her push athlete, the 23-year-old narrowly edged out her team-mates, World Championships silver medallist Kim Kalicki with Leonie Fiebig (GER, 0.06 seconds back), for second place.
Third place at the BMW IBSF World Cup in Innsbruck, also like the previous week's opener, went to 2019 and 2020 World Championships bronze medallist Christine de Bruin of Canada with Kristen Bujnowski (0.15 seconds back).
Olympic Champion Mariama Jamanka had Alexandra Burghardt as her push athlete in the team for the first time. With the sprint relay semi-finalist at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in the summer of 2021, Jamanka, the 2019 World Champion, finished fourth in Innsbruck.
In the overall standings for the BMW IBSF World Cup, Laura Nolte (GER, 450 points) leads the 2-woman bobsleigh ranking ahead of Kim Kalicki (GER, 420) and Christine de Bruin (CAN, 400).
