Flavio Menardi wins silver ahead of Christopher Stewart with bronze

Lillehammer (RWH) Para bobsleigh athlete Jonas Frei of Switzerland has defended his title from last year. At the 2022 IBSF Para-Sport World Championships in Lillehammer, Norway, the 24-year-old had the best overall time after four race runs over two days of the World Championships and won his third title in the 2021-2022 winter: Jonas Frei had previously taken the overall victory in the IBSF Para-Sport World Cup and gold at the European Championships.

Flavio Menardi from Italy surprisingly won silver at the Para-Sport World Championships (0.53 seconds behind). The 21-year-old, the youngest competitor in the field, was still in eleventh place after the first World Championships run, clocked the best time in the second run and continued his race to catch up on the second day of the World Championships with two more good runs to take second place.

Christopher Stewart took bronze in Lillehammer (0.68 seconds behind). It is the first World Cup medal for the 48-year-old Swiss, the European Champion of 2019.
