Lake Placid (RWH) Brian Shimer, one of the US federation's most successful bobsleigh pilots, will celebrate his 60th birthday on 20 April 2022. Shimer, born in Naples, Florida, competed in five Olympic Games and won bronze in 4-man bobsleigh in Salt Lake City in 2002.
In 1993 and 1997, he won bronze in 4-man bobsleigh at the World Championships. In 1997 he also won a bronze medal in the 2-man bobsleigh together with Robert Olesen. Most recently, Shimer was a coach on the US team.
