Riesa (RWH) Bobsleigh Olympic Champion Francesco Friedrich is strengthening his pusher team with sprinter Felix Straub. This was reported by the German federation BSD (Bob- und Schlittenverband für Deutschland).
Felix Straub (25) won World Championship gold at the 2021 World Relays with the German 4 x 200 metre relay team. Now he has announced in an interview with his home club in Leipzig that he will fully focus on the sport of bobsleigh.
For the time being, Felix Straub continues to train in Leipzig and meets weekly with Team Friedrich in Riesa for joint start-up training. Record World Champion Friedrich believes he can make it in the team: "We need someone like him who now says he wants to compete for Olympic gold in 2026. We don't need anyone to only lugging around equipment, we need the best possible team to be able to win again in Cortina." ©RWH2022
