Innsbruck (RWH) The International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF together with the Austrian bobsleigh sport mourns the death of pilot Fritz Sperling. As the Austrian Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation writes in an obituary, the 4-man bobsleigh European Champion of 1978 died on 16 September at the age of 77.
At the 1976 Winter Olympics on his home track in Innsbruck, Frist Sperling and push athlete Andreas Schwab finished fourth in the 2-man bobsleigh - after leading following two of the four runs. He also finished fourth at the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid (USA) in the 4-man bobsleigh. ©RWH2022
