Melanie Hasler in second place in Whistler ahead of World Champion Kaillie Humphries
Whistler (RWH) 2-woman Bobsleigh European Champion Kim Kalicki (GER) started the BMW IBSF World Cup 2022/2023 with an opening victory in Whistler (CAN). With Anabel Galander as her push athlete, the 2020 and 2021 World Championships silver medallist relegated the Swiss duo Melanie Hasler/Nadja Pasternack to second place (0.20 seconds back).

World Champion Kaillie Humphries (USA, 0.41 seconds behind) finished third with Emily Renna. Olympic Champion Laura Nolte dropped from third to fourth place in the second run with Tamara Seer.
The home teams from Canada, monobob winner Bianca Ribi and team mate Cynthia Appiah, finished fifth and sixth in Whistler.
In the overall standings for the BMW IBSF World Cup 2022/2023, Kim Kalicki (GER, 225 points) is leading after the opening race ahead of Melanie Hasler (SUI, 210) and Kaillie Humphries (USA, 200).
