Lochner second in 4-man bobsleigh, first podium for Hafer
Park City (RWH) The BMW IBSF World Cup in Park City ended with World Cup victory number 70 for bobsleigh pilot Francesco Friedrich (GER). The World and Olympic Champion won the 4-man bobsleigh race in Utah Olympic Park with Thorsten Margis, Candy Bauer and Alexander Schueller as his push crew.
Second place went to the crew of pilot Johannes Lochner (GER), 0.23 seconds back) with Erec Bruckert, Georg Fleischhauer and Christian Rasp in Park City.
One hundredth of a second behind, Christoph Hafer (GER, 0.24 seconds back) celebrated his first World Cup medal in 4-man bobsleigh with Michael Salzer, Matthias Sommer and Tobias Schneider.
The race for the 4-man bobsleigh medals in Park City was extremely close. Brad Hall with Arran Gulliver, Taylor Lawrence and Greg Cackett (GBR) in fourth place and Michael Vogt with Silvio Weber, Cyril Bieri and Sandro Michel (SUI) in fifth place were only 0.03 and 0.05 seconds behind the podium places.
The best team of the US hosts in Park City were Frank Del Duca/Adrian Adams/Manteo Mitchell/Hakeem Abdul-Saboor in seventh place - the best World Cup result for Del Duca as a pilot.
Francesco Friedrich (GER, 450 points) leads the overall 4-man bobsleigh standings for the 2022/2023 BMW IBSF World Cup ahead of Brad Hall (GBR, 402) and Johannes Lochner (GER, 386).
