Winterberg (RWH) Maureen Zimmer in women's monobob and the duo Adam Ammour/Benedikt Hertel (both GER) in 2-man bob won the 2023 IBSF Junior World Championships in Winterberg.
Maureen Zimmer defended her title in women's monobob. With her second gold in the junior event after 2022, the 26-year-old also secured the ticket for the BMW IBSF World Championships for the first time, which will be held in St. Moritz (SUI) from Jan. 23 to Feb. 5, 2023. Charlotte Candrix (GER) won silver ahead of Diana Filipszki (GER) with bronze. In the U23 classification of the Junior World Championships, the title went to Charlotte Candrix, teammate Diana Filipszki took silver ahead of Youth Olympic Champion Georgeta Popescu of Romania with bronze.
In 2-man bobsleigh, Adam Ammour/Benedikt Hertel (GER) are the 2023 Junior World Champions and will thus also compete at the World Championships on the famous Olympia Bobrun St. Moritz-Celerina. Silver in Winterberg won Nico Semmler/Oliver Peschk (GER) ahead of Maximilian Illmann/Henrik Proske (GER). U23 World Champions are Laurin Zern/Marvin Orthmann from Germany ahead of Aleksy Boron/Seweryn Sosna from Poland and Andrei Nica/Mihai Calancea from Romania.
