Innsbruck (RWH) Fittingly for the home event of the BMW IBSF World Cup in Igls (AUT), the host national federation ÖBSV presents a new vice-president. And this is none other than Ingo Appelt, Olympic Champion in the 4-man bobsleigh at the 1992 Winter Games in Albertville, France.
The Stubai native wants to help bring the current and next generation to similar successes as he once had. "A big point for me is that we bring the youth closer to the sport of bobsleigh and skeleton. We should have quite a few ideas there," said the 61-year-old Appelt during his presentation. "Another focus for me is para-bobsleigh. I want to create more space and a base for these athletes."
The previous vice-president Hannes Wallner could no longer hold the office for professional and time reasons.
