Altenberg (IBSF) After the successful start of the BMW IBSF World Cup, also the IBSF Skeleton Europe Cup kicked off on the track in Altenberg (GER). After intense training runs, the young athletes from more than 15 nations got the track in perfect conditions.
Both women and men races were an exciting competition. The places on the podium were shared by Russian and German athletes.
The first women race was won by Olga Potylitsina from Russian Team followed by her teammate Renata Khuzina and the German athlete Janine Becker. Unlucky was Maxi Just from Germany who crashed shortly before finish having the absolute best time. At the second race Maxi Just didn’t make any mistakes and guaranteed herself the top spot on the podium followed by her teammates Corinna Lepold and Janine Becker, as well as Renata Khuzina from Russia who shared the third place with Janine Becker.
The first men race was won by Sergey Chudinov from Russia followed by Germans Colin Domke and Dominic Rady. Winner of the second race was Russian Alexander Mutovin who shared the first place with Fabian Küchler from Germany followed by his teammate Dominic Rady (GER).
The next race of IBSF Skeleton Europe Cup will for the first time take place on the icetrack in Sigulda, Latvia, on December 19 + 20.
