Sigulda (RWH) Skeleton World Champion Martins Dukurs will continue sliding with his sights set on the Olympic Winter Games 2022 in Beijing, as he announced at Latvian TV channel 360TV.

„For the PyeongChang race I prepared myself for four years“, the five time World Champion said in the interview. “But these were not the runs to end my career with.” At the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang (KOR) Martins Dukurs just missed out on the medals, finishing fourth. 2010 in Vancouver (CAN) and 2014 in Sochi (RUS) he won Olympic silver, respectively.

At the BMW IBSF World Cup in Innsbruck (AUT) in January 2018, Martins Dukurs won his 50th World Cup race. He topped off the golden World Cup win with his ninth victory in the European Championships.
