Winterberg (RWH) Sarah Wimmer in Women's Skeleton and Felix Seibel and Kilian von Schleinitz in Men's Skeleton have won the first races of the season in the IBSF Europe Cup 2020/2021.

In Winterberg (GER), 23-year-old Sarah Wimmer, who has only been competing internationally in skeleton since the beginning of 2020, celebrated her first two victories in the race series.

In Men's Skeleton, the first victory of the season went to Junior European Champion and European Cup titleholder Felix Seibel (GER). The second race was won by team mate Kilian von Schleinitz. The Briton Ben Fulker celebrated his first podium place in the IBSF Europe Cup in third place.

Numerous athletes of the Youth Olympic Winter Games (YOG) Lausanne 2020 also competed in Winterberg. The furthest forward in the ranking was for Youth Olympic Champion Lukas Nydegger (GER) with a fourth place. In the women's competition, Austria's Victoria Steiner, fifth at the YOG, finished sixth in Winterberg. ©RWH2020
