Stefanie Votz wins overall ranking of the IBSF Skeleton Europe Cup 2020/2021
Innsbruck (RWH) Four award ceremonies were staged at the final of the IBSF Skeleton Europe Cup 2020/2021 in women's skeleton.
In Innsbruck (AUT), World Championship fifth Alina Tararychenkova (RUS) won the final race ahead of Italy's Alessia Crippa and Youth Olympic Champion Anastasiia Tsyganova (RUS). As the race was also counted as Junior European Championship for the athletes from Europe, the trio also secured gold, silver and bronze in this order. For the 20-year-old Junior European Champion Tararychenkova it is the third title after 2018 and 2020.
In the U20 classification of the Junior European Championships, Anastasiia Tsyganova, who had already become U20 World Champion in January, also won the European title. Thus, the 17-year-old is the holder of all major international titles of the youngest female skeleton athletes. Stefanie Votz (GER) won U20 silver in Innsbruck ahead of Hanna Staub (GER) with bronze.
After the six races of the season, the overall Europe Cup victory went to Stefanie Votz (GER) with two wins and three further podium places, ahead of her teammates Hanna Staub and Corinna Leipold. ©RWH2021
