Colchester (RWH) Skeleton athlete Laura Deas (GBR), 2018 Olympic bronze medallist at the PyeongChang Winter Games, joins the British Athletes Commission (BAC). As is reported in a BAC press release, the 32-year-old joins the organisation as 2021 athlete ambassador alongside five-time Paralympic Champion, wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft and former World and European Champion, sprinter Adam Gemili.
“I’m really excited and honoured to take on this role with the BAC. I’ve been aware of their brilliant work for a number of years now and can’t wait to help support their vital service to British athletes“, Laura Deas said in the BAC news.
The British Athletes Commission offers independent, confidential and expert support to athletes on a range of issues, as well as supporting the development and training of Athlete Representatives, ensuring athletes are involved in the decision making within their sport and the wider system.
