Innsbruck (RWH) Jeff Pain from Canada, Skeleton World Champion in 2003 and 2005, is the new national coach in Austria. This was announced by the ÖBSV federation now in Innsbruck.
Jeff Pain was active as an athlete from 1994 to 2010. In addition to the two World Championship titles, he won the overall World Cup in the winter 2004/2005 as well as Olympic silver in 2006 in Turin. As a coach, Jeff Pain from 2015 built up, among others, the first skeleton team of the upcoming Olympic host nation China.
"With him, we not only get a coach who works a lot in the mental area, but also an absolute expert for technical work and runner material," said ÖBSV Sports Director Christian Auer in the press release of the Austrian federation.
