ICC finals in Altenberg: Skeleton athletes Kreher and Rukosuev overall winners 2021/2022

Altenberg (RWH) The IBSF Intercontinental Cup 2021/2022 came to an end with the season's races number seven and eight in Altenberg (GER). In the skeleton-only race series, the overall victories went to Susanne Kreher (GER) and Evgeniy Rukosuev (RUS). 51 athletes from 25 nations competed in the ICC season finale.

Susanne Kreher took both victories in women's skeleton ahead of team mate Sophia Griebel (both GER). The 17-year-old Canadian Hallie Clarke and the Chinese Lin Huiyang took the two third places in the races. With five victories in eight season races, Susanne Kreher also celebrated victory in the ICC overall standings of winter 2021/2022 (890 points) ahead of Hallie Clarke (790) and Sophia Griebel (742).

In men's skeleton, Junior World Champion Evgeniy Rukosuev (RUS) secured his fourth victory this winter in the seventh race. Felix Keisinger (GER) fought his way from fifth to second place with the best time in the second run. The bronze medal went to Britain's Matt Weston, winner of the BMW IBSF World Cup in Innsbruck in November. In the eighth and last race of the season, Felix Seibel (GER) was ahead of Evgeniy Rukosuev and Felix Keisinger. Rukosuev thus also secured victory in the ICC overall standings (912 points).
