Youth Olympic Champions Tsyganova, Rukosuev and Nydegger with three of four titles at Junior World Championships

Kreher and Tsyganova win in women's skeleton, Rukosuev and Nydegger in the men's event

Innsbruck (RWH) The skeleton races at the 2022 IBSF Junior World Championships in Innsbruck (AUT) ended with three of four titles for the Youth Olympic Champions.

In the women's event, 18-year-old Anastasiia Tsyganova (RUS), 2020 Youth Olympic Champion, won the U20 title as she did in 2021. Her teammate Polina Tiurina (17) took silver ahead of Aline Pelckmans from Belgium.

Junior World Champion 2022 is Susanne Kreher (GER) ahead of Tabitha Stoecker from Great Britain and Anastasiia Tsyganova.

In the men's event, as in 2021, the titles went to the last two Youth Olympic Champions: Evgeniy Rukosuev (RUS), who won YOG gold in 2016, defended his Junior World Championship title from 2021 ahead of Lukas Nydegger (GER). Nydegger, the 2020 Youth Olympic Champion, is also the U20 World Champion for the second time after 2021.

Amedeo Bagnis from Italy took bronze at the 2022 Junior World Championships, in the U20 ranking silver and bronze went to Dmitrii Grevtsev and Bogdan Popov (both RUS). ©RWH2022
