Yanqing (RWH) Men’s Skeleton World Champion Christopher Grotheer (GER) and Zhao Dan from Olympic host nation China in Women’s Skeleton scored the best times at the first official trainings to the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.
In Yanqing Sliding, Center, Christopher Grotheer clocked the best time in both heats - with 1.00:42 minutes in the first of two heats as best time of the day. The best start time had Evgeniy Rukosuev of Russian Olympic Committee (ROC). China's Yan Wengang and Yin Zheng came fourth and fifth in regard of training times.
In Women’s Skeleton, Team China’s flag bearer at the Olympic opening ceremony, 19-year-old Zhao Dan, clocked the best time with 1.02:18 minutes in second heat. In the first training run, 2018 Olympic Silver medallist Jacqueline Lölling and 2021 Junior World Champion Hannah Neise (both GER) tied for the best run time. Valentina Margaglio of Italy had the best start time (5.06 seconds). ©RWH2022
