Lausanne (IBSF/RWH) The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board has rubber stamped the event programme of the XXV. Olympic Games in Milano-Cortina 2026 at today´s meeting in Lausanne. The International Bobsleigh & Skeleton Federation IBSF has been granted another event: Skeleton Mixed Team Event.

At the Skeleton Mixed Event a team is composed of one female and one male athlete. The event has seen great success at the last editions of the World Championships.

“For our sliding family this is a great achievement and a day to celebrate as with Milano Cortina 2026 all our athletes have the equal chance to compete in two events”, said IBSF president Ivo Ferriani. “This shows the amazing work that has gone into the development of Skeleton by our national federations and IBSF staff.”

The IBSF thanks the IOC Executive Board, the IOC Program Commission and in particular the IOC Sports Department for the support and approval of the Skeleton Mixed Team Event which is another milestone in the IBSF history.
