Junior World Champion Kreher and US athlete Curtis on the podium for the first time
Lake Placid (RWH) Women’s Skeleton World Champion Tina Hermann is the winner at the BMW IBSF World Cup in Lake Placid (USA). At the third race of the season, the 2016 overall World Cup winner stood on top of the podium for the first time in winter 2022/2023.
Second place in women's skeleton went to Junior World Champion Susanne Kreher (GER, 0.31 seconds back). For the 21-year-old it is the first podium finish in the fifth World Cup race of her career.
Also celebrating a premiere on the podium at the BMW IBSF World Cup was Kelly Curtis (USA, 0.33 seconds back). In front of fans and friends at her home track in Lake Placid, the US athlete raced from eighth place to third in the second race run.
In the overall ranking of the BMW IBSF World Cup 2022/2023 Tina Hermann (GER, 611 points) took the lead with her victory. Her teammate Hannah Neise (GER, 577) follows in second place. The Olympic Champion finished sixth in Lake Placid. Third place after three of the eight season's World Cups is held by Canada's Mirela Rahneva (553), who finished eighth in Lake Placid.
