Innsbruck (RWH) Skeleton athlete Janine Flock of Austria, the 2023 European Championship silver medalist, will have to skip the 2022/2023 BMW IBSF World Cup final and will end her season early. The 2015 and 2021 overall World Cup winner announced that she suffered a foot injury at the start of the BMW IBSF World Cup on her home track in Innsbruck (AUT). "A hairline fracture in the bone, a bone bruise and a large hematoma in the left foot were diagnosed," Janine Flock wrote in a press release after the diagnosis at the Sanatorium Hochrum. "It just doesn't make sense, I can't put any weight on the foot. I have to lie down."
